Opkit Newsletter - September Edition

Welcome to the September edition of the Opkit newsletter!

If you’re new here, allow us to introduce ourselves: Opkit is a generative AI call center for the healthcare industry. Our HIPAA-compliant, AI-powered software platform automates annoying phone calls for medical clinics. For example:

  • Calls to insurance companies for verification of benefits

  • Calls to pharmacies for medication management

  • Calls to providers for collecting medical records

With that, let’s jump into some product and company updates!

In this Issue

Product Improvements: A quick rundown of the best product enhancements we’ve shipped recently, including:

  • Bulk Exports: Opkit now provides the ability to bulk-export tasks with associated call recordings and transcripts.

  • AI Calls Toggle: You can now toggle AI calls on and off for specific templates - or for your entire account.

  • Multi-Page Task Selection: We’ve added the ability to select tasks across multiple pages in the task list view, making it easier to perform bulk actions on large numbers of tasks.

  • User Info: The primary dropdown menu now shows information about the currently signed-in user. This sets the stage for more features down-the-line.

  • Usage Limits: If your account is subject to limits on task creation, those liits are now visible on the Settings page.

  • Task Notes: We moved task-level feedback to the Flag Task flow, replacing it with a new field for customer internal notes.

Coming Soon: Get a sneak peek into Opkit’s near-term roadmap.

Feature Deep-Dive - Result Checks: Result Checks are custom rules you can define on task templates; they get evaluated against completed task results, highlighting tasks that have suspicious-looking results. In this week’s Feature Deep-Dive, join Opkit co-founder Justin Ko as he explains how to use Result Checks!

In Case You Missed It: Catch up on important developments in the healthcare and AI spheres.

Product Improvements

Bulk Exports

You can now bulk-export tasks from the Opkit dashboard.

To get started, select your desired tasks from the list view and click “Export” in the table action bar. A modal will appear that allows you to optionally include call recordings and/or transcripts. After you complete this flow, Opkit will prepare a ZIP file in the background; you can download this file on the Exports page.

In the future, we plan to add support for additional file formats such as XLSX, as well as options for including and excluding specific data columns.

AI Calls Toggle

We added a new “AI Calls” toggle that allows users to enable and disable AI agent functionality. The idea here is Opkit users should be able to opt in and out of AI calls when it makes sense for them, and have full control which calls leverage AI.

This setting exists at both the account and template levels; the account-level configuration value overrides template-level configuration values when disabled.

Multi-Page Task Selection

In the past, Opkit prevented you from selecting tasks across multiple pages in the list view, making it hard to perform bulk actions on large numbers of tasks.

With Multi-Page Task Selection, this problem is solved; Opkit users can select tasks across multiple pages and perform actions on up to tens, hundreds, or even thousands of tasks at once.

User Info

Opkit now displays the current user’s name and email address within the primary dropdown menu. This small improvement reflects a larger backend change that sets the stage for more user-oriented features, such as the ability to view only your tasks in the task list view (hiding tasks created by other users from your organization).

Usage Limits

Certain Opkit customers may be subject to usage limits - caps on the number of tasks they can create in a given day, week, or month. These limits are now visible on the Settings page.

Note that if your organization is not subject to any usage limits, your Settings page will be unmodified.

Task Notes

We introduced a new text input for customer notes on the task detail view. The feedback text input has been moved to the Flag Task flow.

Coming Soon

We’ll be landing a full suite of amazing product features over the next month. Here are some of the highlights:

  • Bulk Copy Tasks: We’re adding another bulk action for tasks: Copy.

  • Webhooks: API users rejoice! Opkit will soon support webhooks, allowing you to subscribe to a stream of events instead of polling Opkit’s API for status changes.

  • Notifications: We are introducing in-app notifications for key events, including task creation and completion, making it easier for dashboard users to keep up with changes on their account.

  • Result Timestamps: Soon Opkit will expose timestamps for individual result values, indicating the exact moment in a call where a particular result was discussed.

Feature Deep-Dive - Result Checks

When Opkit completes a task, it kicks off a process called “results extraction”, where individual data elements are extracted from the call transcript and marshaled into a structured object. The shape of this object is determined by your task template - and by the objectives therein!

Result Checks build on this concept by allowing you to define logical constraints on objective values. For example, you can say “this objective must have a value less than 10” or “this objective must never be empty”.

If any of the extracted results fail to satisfy your Result Check logic, the task is highlighted in the task list view along with the particular Check(s) that failed. In this way, Result Checks are extremely useful for flagging tasks that may have “bad” results.

In the video above, Opkit co-founder, Justin Ko, explains Result Checks by walking you through a simple, practical example.
